Toybox

The way your SIS plays with the other toys

Platforms like Ellucian and Banner weren’t built to speak modern API. Toybox is the governed integration engine that connects your SIS to the systems your campus actually runs, in both directions.

Your system of record

Ellucian or Banner stays in charge. Toybox connects to it, hands each downstream system only what it’s entitled to, and writes updates home to the source of truth under the same governance.

Both directions, one set of rules

Toybox hands each connector only the fields it’s licensed for. When a toy has something to give back, it flows home through the same entitlements. One engine, governed the same way, for every toy in the box.

Housing connector

The roster and housing-eligibility fields it’s entitled to, kept current on the SIS’s schedule, and room assignments flow back on the record. Licensed from Syncademia, never custom code your team has to maintain.

LMS connector

Course enrollments and section rosters flow to your LMS, entitled field by field, and what the LMS has to report flows back the same governed way. No end-of-term CSV scramble.

Door access connector

Active-student status provisions and de-provisions badge access, so a withdrawal closes the door the same day, not next term.

Governed by architecture

Point-to-point scripts were never a platform.

Every campus runs on integrations. Most of them are one-off scripts nobody dares touch. Toybox replaces the pile with one governed engine.

0Scripts to babysit

Every connector is built, delivered, and licensed by Syncademia. No integration code for your team to write, host, or maintain.

100%Releases on the record

Every field that moves is entitled per target, and every release of data lands in an exportable FERPA disclosure ledger.

1Engine, both directions

Data out and data back travel the same governed path: the SIS and the systems around it finally agree.

How Toybox works

Four steps from a pile of scripts to one governed platform.

Step 01

Connect.

Pick your connectors and we plug them in: Colleague, Banner, your LMS, housing, door access. Each one is licensed, built, and maintained by Syncademia. Need a system we don’t reach yet? We build it, the catalog grows, your license unlocks it.

Step 02

Entitle.

Decide exactly what each system may see. Entitlements are set field by field, per target, and enforced by the engine, not hidden in a menu. The housing system gets housing fields. Nothing more, minimized by default.

THE FULL RECORD WHAT’S ENTITLED

Step 03

Flow.

Data moves in both directions on the SIS’s schedule. Rosters flow out, updates flow home, kept current as things change, so the system of record and the systems around it finally agree.

Step 04

Prove.

Every release lands in the ledger. Each field that moves is written to an exportable FERPA disclosure record, automatically. When someone asks who got what, the answer is one export away.

The console

Run by your people, on rails.

Standalone Toybox includes a console for the team that owns the data: governed field mapping, dead-letter replay, and a probe that proves an integration clean end to end, with no integration code to write or maintain.

Licensed, never bespoke

Every connector ships from Syncademia and is licensed individually: the connectors you use, not a bundle you don’t. Entitlements are enforced by the engine, not hidden in a menu.

Delivered as a service

Toybox runs on Syncademia’s infrastructure: nothing to install, host, or patch. Your deployment stands alone, credentials sealed with hardware-backed key management, never pooled.

Already a Sync program?

The same engine powers roster sync inside Sync: nothing to buy, nothing to manage. Standalone Toybox is for the campus that wants governed integration everywhere.

Bring governed integration to campus.

We’ll walk your data owners and IT through Toybox end to end: your SIS, your systems, your entitlements. We’ll map the retirement plan for the script pile.
